I created this artwork by using my view finder to not only find something to draw, but to also block out what wasn't needed. While I was drawing the negative space, I made sure to look up as much as I was looking down. After I drew the negative space, I outlined it with sharpie and created my pattern to go inside of it. For this project, I used the still life, a pencil, a sharpie, an eraser, markers, and colored pencils. This piece of artwork uses a half drop pattern in the negative. It is also alternating between colors and shapes. By repeating the rectangles and the colors, I used repitition. In this lesson, I learned that in order to make your drawing accurate, it is best to keep your eyes on what you are drawing as much as possible.Thursday, October 23, 2014
